Giant Bicycles are Taiwanese bicycles and equipment manufacturer founded in 1972 by King Liu. Giant has recently opened its first official dealer in Vietnam, the Viet Thang company offering a wide selection of brand new bikes for touring and rental including both road bikes and mountain bikes.
Giant started out as an original equipment manufacturer, producing bicycles to be sold under other brand names. Giant branded bikes were launched in 1981, first in Taiwan followed by Europe, North America and elsewhere around the globe.
Giant are behind many significant innovations brought to the cycle industry. One of their greatest achievements was in 1987 when Giant produced the Cadex 980 road bike – a model that is regarded as the world’s first affordable carbon fibre road bike.
Today Giant are one of the largest bicycle companies in the world, producing a huge range of bikes available to more than 12,000 retailers worldwide.
