Mong Cai Quang Ninh is a district of Quang Ninh Province in the north east Vietnam. Mong Cai district covers an area of 495 km². The district might not be an ideal place for challenging mountain bike rides. Mong Cai is best known for its beautiful beach, the Tra Co beach. The beach has been known for the longest, nearest to the border, most primitive and most romantic beach so it annually attracts a large number of tourists.
Getting to Mong Cai Quang Ninh
The best way to get to Mong Cai from Hanoi is to rent a car with driver. You will be picked up at your place in Hanoi and brought straight to Mong Cai. The journey takes about 4 hours on road. Those who are on budget can take local public bus from My Dinh/Gia Lam/Giap Bat bus station. Taking a guided tour (with a tour guide) is highly recommended. A guide is really helpful in such an off the beaten track place like Mong Cai Vietnam.

The average annual temperature recorded is 22.9 °C. In winter, it is cold (between 1 and 3 °C), dry, and sees little rainfall (between 150 mm and 400 mm). The average humidity is 82 percent. Annual average rainfall, influenced by north-eastern monsoons, varies between 1,700 mm and 2,400 mm (maximum recorded is 2751 mm), with rainfall concentrated in the summer months for 90 to 170 days, particularly in July and August.
