Nam Dinh province is situated in the south of Hanoi, in the region of the Red River Delta. Nam Dinh shares its border with Ha Nam, Thai Binh provinces on the north, Ninh Binh Province on the west and the East Sea on the east with 72km seaside. Nam Dinh is not only a granary of midland in the North but also a center of textile industry in Viet Nam.

Getting to Nam Dinh
Nam Dinh City is 90km from Ha Noi, 30km from Phu Ly City, 20km from Thai Binh City. The destination can be reached either by road or train. The National Road N°. 21 links National Road N°. 1 to center of Nam Dinh. National Road N°. 10 from Ninh Binh City to Thai Binh, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh provinces via Nam Dinh. Vietnam Reunification Express Train from Ha Noi to Ho Chi Minh City stops in Nam Dinh.

Like most other provinces in the North Delta region, Nam Dinh has a humid subtropical climate. The average annual temperature ranges from 23 to 24 °C (73 to 75 °F). The coldest months are December and January, with average temperatures ranging from 16 to17 °C (61 to 63 °F) and the hottest month being July, with temperatures over 29 °C (84 °F).
The average annual rainfall is between 1,750 millimetres (69 in) and 1,800 millimetres (71 in) per year, divided into two distinct seasons: there rainy season from May to October, and the non-rainy, or less rainy, season) from November to February. The total number of hours of sunlight per year averages out about 1,650 to 1,700 hours per year, and the average relative humidity is 80 to 85 per cent. Additionally, being next to the Gulf of Tonkin, Nam Dinh is normally affected by tropical storms and monsoons, with an average of four to six attacks per year.

Nam Dinh is proud of Tran Royal Remains on Tuc Mac Village, the native land of the Tran Kings and national hero Tran Hung Dao, comprising Thien Truong and Co Trach temples and Pho Minh Pagoda and Tower.
The province is also famous for Phu Day Remains on Vu Ban District. These remains including Phu Tien Huong (the Tien Huong Temple), the Van Cat Temple and the tomb of Goddess Lieu Hanh have high value of architecture.
Coming to Xuan Thuy National Park, tourists enjoy observing many of special birds, 9 types of which are listed in the world’s Red Book. From November to April, it is a gathering place for tens of thousands of birds migrating from the North.

Every year, Nam Dinh held special traditional events like Vieng Fair, Phu Day, Co Le, Dai Bi, Keo Hanh Thien, Vong Cung pagodas, Tran Temple festivals. Cheo, van, xam songs, puppet showing and boat racing are preserved here.
